Fête Chinoise presented its first West Coast Signature Event at Shangri-La Vancouver, showcasing renowned Chinese-Canadian actress and singer Linda Chung, along with singer Tyler Shaw and Malaysian contemporary calligraphy artist Jameson Yap—all of whom share a deep connection to their Chinese heritage.
One of Vancouver’s first black-tie evenings in 2024, the Fête Chinoise Signature Event is considered one of the most coveted events in Canada. This Signature Event commanded a vibrant guest list of influential community leaders, movers & shakers, entrepreneurs, artists and celebrities, luminaries, style and fashion leaders, cultural enthusiasts, producers and respected media.
Designed by Palettera, the event floor of Shangri-La Vancouver was transformed into a cultural wonderland, providing guests with an immersive experience in the depths of Chinese arts and culture that included live watercolour art with Janice Wu, portrait walls by Butter Studios, and dramatic dragon dances.
Maestro Ken Hsieh led musicians from the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra in beautiful music to accompany the night. Tracy Tong, award-winning journalist and anchor with Global News, was the master of ceremonies for the evening.
Guests arrived and were greeted by hosts stationed next to the incredible black enamel Fazioli piano in the Shangri-La lobby. Each attendee was invited to add to the Wish Tree before moving to the 6th floor, where they explored transformed spaces featuring delightful fusion treats, signature cocktail-tasting bars, live performances, and art exhibitions, including an experiential cocktail experience with the ‘Breath of the Dragon.’
The evening was proudly supported by Palettera, Shangri-La Vancouver, Cathay, Johnnie Walker, Phantom Creek Estates, Tom Lee Music, and numerous media partners.
The event also featured a Silent Auction with curated products and experiences that begin at $1,000 each in retail value, including artist Jameson Yap’s on-site created piece ‘A Moonlit Night,’ Lab-Grown Diamond Infinity Pendant by Pandora, a Phantom Creek Estate Sparkling Bundle & Founders Cellar Experience for Six, and a Valentino Mini Rockstud Hobo Bag. Proceeds from the Silent Auction in Vancouver will support the Chinese Canadian Museum.
