Vancouver’s most anticipated wedding event, Countdown Events‘ Creme de la Creme Grand Wedding Showcase, celebrated its 18th season this month, captivating guests at the luxurious JW Marriott Parq Vancouver. This enchanting event, which unfolded with the theme of ‘romance, enchantment, and unbelievable elegance,’ offered an immersive experience for attendees seeking inspiration for their upcoming nuptials. With its full-scale presentation of creative tablescapes, bespoke floral designs, mouthwatering food and drink tastings, photobooths, and the ever-anticipated couture-style fashion show, the showcase once again raised the bar for bridal events in Vancouver.
Created by elevated event producer Soha Lavin in 2004, the Creme de la Creme Grand Wedding Showcase has continually set itself apart by blending artistry with celebration. Lavin’s innovative approach to wedding shows has transformed the event into a must-see experience, where live performances such as ballet and theatrical displays are seamlessly incorporated to captivate and inspire every guest. Over the years, Lavin’s creation has evolved, cementing its reputation as the city’s premier wedding event.
This year’s highlight was the spectacular designer fashion show, featuring international design houses presented by Bisou Bridal, House of Raina, and Harry Rosen. The runway dazzled with the latest in bridal couture, as models showcased stunning collections that embodied timeless elegance and contemporary flair.
Nearly 70 local artisans and vendors were on hand, offering a wide array of services and products tailored to ensure every couple’s wedding day is nothing short of extraordinary. From officiants like Young Hip & Married to Ultimate Limousines, and Caviar Candles to Element Event Production, there was no shortage of top-tier services to elevate each aspect of the wedding journey. Attendees were also introduced to unique offerings such as live art by Impressions Live Art, aesthetics from CuR Laser and Skin Aesthetics, and makeup artistry by Nadia Albano MUAH. For those considering a destination wedding, the Visit Barbados team was on-site to assist in planning the perfect tropical getaway.
The culinary experience was nothing short of remarkable. JW Marriott Parq Vancouver’s catering team crafted delightful stations featuring artisanal Italian, Chinese, and Indian cuisine, while guests indulged in delectable bites from some of Metro Vancouver’s best caterers, including Boy With a Knife, Savoury Chef, and White Table Catering. To satisfy every sweet tooth, talented pastry chefs from Bella Gelateria, Joconde Patisserie, and Le Gateau Bakeshop presented their most exquisite confections.
Local artisans showcased their craft, such as heirloom jewellery designer Elsa Corsi, who offered expert advice on choosing the perfect bridal accessories to complement any style. Floral trends also took centre stage, with arrangements by Vancouver’s top florists, including Flower Factory, Bloomscape Botanics, and Leis de Buds, offering inspiration for couples looking to add a personal touch to their wedding florals.
With the event’s grand success, anticipation for next year’s showcase already fills the air. As the city’s most esteemed wedding event continues to evolve and inspire, attendees can look forward to even more exquisite designs, unmatched talent, and unforgettable experiences. Next year promises to surpass all expectations—creating a truly magical celebration of love.
