Jamie Mann is a consummate artist whose eye for visual storytelling has established him as one of Vancouver’s most distinctive fashion photographers. From his airy Railtown loft overlooking expansive train tracks, Jamie creates images that capture the unique essence of every subject who steps into his frame. His creative sanctuary is a designer’s dream, adorned with carefully arranged vignettes, lush greenery, and artwork by renowned artists including Jonah Samson, Jessica Bell, Zoe Pawlak, Jenny Shipper, and The Dark.
While Vancouver is home, Jamie’s pursuit of sunlight and dramatic shadows takes him around the world, with frequent photographic journeys to Dubai, Los Angeles, Paris, Milan, Palm Springs, and Mexico. His work spans advertising campaigns, editorial covers, album art, and private collections throughout Canada and the United States.
Jamie’s photographs have graced the pages of publications as varied as British Desnudo, Lamour Fashion, Pump, Gray Magazine, Western Living, Scout, Pacific Rim Magazine, and Gmaro. He has collaborated with a diverse roster of designers and brands, including Jason Matlo, Kam Bains of Singh Styles, Erica Silva, Jihan Ahmer, Brush Salon, Bike Athletic, Grounded People, and Christine Lingerie.
His talent is trusted by international and local model agencies such as Lizbell Agency, MODE MODELS, NUMA MODELS, Richards International, Wilhelmina, Elite Milano, and Charles Stuart International. In addition to his professional practice, Jamie has generously shared his skills and knowledge with the students of JCI Institute, inspiring the next generation of creatives.
Among his most meaningful projects, Jamie photographed the Amsterdam Rainbow Dress, a living work of art made of all the national flags from countries where being LGBTIQ+ is illegal, punishable by imprisonment, torture, or capital punishment. The dress visited Vancouver in 2023 to coincide with the Vancouver Pride Parade. Jamie shared, “I was very honoured for them to ask myself to shoot it on three local LGBTIQ+ talent including Kendall Gender, Joseph Huang, and Jaylene Time.”
He also partnered with designer Eduardo Ramos to shoot a wedding campaign for the Vancouver Club featuring Ballet BC dancer Sid Chuckas. The concept, “Love Your Own Way,” showcased the gender-neutral opulence of Ramos’ designs. Jamie is currently working with L’Oréal Paris x BRUSH Salon on an upcoming project soon to be released.
Beyond his commercial success, Jamie Mann is a proud supporter of organizations like Rainbow Railroad, the Black Women’s Health Imperative, the Native Women’s Association of Canada, and QMUNITY. Quietly dedicated to his craft, he prefers to remain under the radar, letting his evocative imagery speak for itself as he continues to focus on the talent, the shot, and the unforgettable result.
