Phyllis & Shelby Lui Mark Twenty Years

Family, close friends, and associates gathered at the West Vancouver home of Phyllis and Shelby Lui to celebrate a milestone twenty years of marriage.

Guests were requested to arrive in Cote D’Azur-inspired summer whites and pastels and were welcomed by a flower-crowned golf cart that carried them up the driveway to a marquee “20” station, where champagne and bubbles set the tone for the evening ahead. The terrace beyond was dressed in soft coral runners, gold-rimmed chargers, and lush arrangements of hydrangea and gerbera daisy.

A Timeline of a Life Built Together

Guests arrive to the Lui family told their story in chapters via a series of illustrated milestone panels traced two decades side by side, from their wedding day through building their first home, welcoming their children, and the everyday moments that shaped a family. Guests lingered under draped white canopies, trading stories and well wishes as live music played through appetizers and dinner, with DJ Pri taking over after dinner for a poolside dance party that carried the celebration into the night.

A New Chapter for Phyllis

The celebration arrived at a particularly meaningful moment for Phyllis, who this year marks twenty years since co-founding Kalu Interiors alongside longtime friend Aleem Kassam, a partnership that produced more than five hundred projects across North America. In 2026, Phyllis has stepped into a new chapter as founder of PippyLui Design Studio, a boutique practice reflecting her own creative voice. The name carries deep personal meaning: “Pippy,” the nickname used by those closest to her, paired with “Lui,” honouring her family roots
