The 61st edition of the Vancouver International Boat Show was hosted by Boating BC and a resounding success with approximately 26,000 attendees, providing nautical enthusiasts with the most extensive showcase of boats, accessories, and more on the West Coast. The event featured an incredible selection of luxury yachts, including some beautiful ‘green’ ones, alongside motorboats, deck boats, and catamarans.
The show was held across two venues, BC Place and The Floating Show at Granville Island, where some of the finest boating retailers from across the province and Canada internationally displayed the latest new boats and premiere brokerage boats.
We are thrilled to bring to your attention the top four selections for 2024, as chosen by Folio.YVR Ambassadors Jade Massie and Douglas Scammell.
SV Business Group
The first select is the Greenline Yachts by SV Business Group, which introduced the first hybrid boat in 2008 and revolutionized the boating industry. The demand for ‘green’ yachts is on the rise, and with a bank of solar panels, you can use all of the boat’s appliances without any noise, vibrations, emissions, or disturbance, making them an eco-friendly option.
Absolute Classics
The Absolute Classics mission statement says it all! With 30 years of experience in the industry and many awards, owner Bruce Middleton says, “Our quest is to recognize that which was remarkable from the past and acknowledge the Ethos or the characteristics of a previous era as manifested in its beliefs or aspirations and honour these qualities and values in everything we do. We aspire to provide products that are timeless in design, have an inherent style and are coveted moving forward.”
Freedom Marine
Freedom Marine offers a wide range of impeccably designed and maintained homes away from home and offers deals on pre-owned yachts like the high-end Princess F62 ($4.2M), the sleek Viking 60 Enclosed Bridge ($2.99M US), or the perfect weekend yacht the Sea Ray 470 Sundancer ($599,000), making a selection may prove to be difficult!
Last but not least, M&P Mercury Sales Ltd., with its world-class events, award-winning customer service, three locations, and being the recipient of the Boating Industry Canada Employers of Choice Award, has guided boaters to adventure and relaxation on the sparkling waters of beautiful BC since 1957. The company offers the most popular, recognized, award-winning boats and yachts today, including pre-owned ones, making it an excellent option for reducing your carbon footprint.
We cannot conclude our Vancouver International Boat Show coverage without thanking Anurag Vinayak (@sailormandiaries) and Amir Peyravifar (@vancouveryachtguy), who guided our Ambassadors on a journey of information about the elevated yachting lifestyle and the companies that provide such beautiful vessels to those who seek freedom on the water.
