Vancouver’s choral arts community gathered in fine form for the Resound Gala, the annual fundraiser supporting Chor Leoni and the singular work this ensemble brings to the city. The evening unfolded with the warmth and precision one has come to expect from an event of this calibre — polished in every detail, and genuinely moving in its purpose.
Co-chaired by the estimable John deC. Evans and Bruce Munro Wright, OBC, Resound drew a discerning crowd whose generosity proved historic. The evening raised more than $460,000 — a record-breaking result that will sustain Chor Leoni’s concert programming, educational outreach, and commitment to choral excellence at the highest level.
The night’s hosts, Bruce Hoffman, Kevin Lin, and Jaime Vargas, lent the proceedings both personal candour and vocal brilliance, sharing stories with guests before offering their voices to the full ensemble. Auctioneer Fred Lee guided a spirited live auction with characteristic energy and command, while event photographer Jamie-Lee Fuoco captured the evening’s finer moments, and portrait sessions with the incomparable Kyrani Kanavaros gave guests a keepsake of a memorable night.
Bon Vivant Catering attended to the table, and Manic Botanic provided the floral and décor elements that dressed the room with quiet elegance. The volunteer committee, months in the making, and lead event planner Jane Caddick ensured the evening met its considerable ambitions. Resound 2027 is already confirmed for May 26th.
