Vancouver’s pre-eminent and most enduring wedding shows, Creme de la Creme Grand Wedding Showcase, launched its 17th season this month at its new home – the stunning JW Marriott Parq Vancouver. Guests were treated to an enchanting, full-scale immersive day filled with inspiration – from creative tablescapes, unique floral designs, to delicious food and drink tastings, photobooths, and its highly anticipated couture-style fashion show, with more than 70 local artisans and vendors on site.CountDown Event’s founder and principal planner Soha Lavin created Creme de la Creme Grand Wedding Showcase in 2004. Since then, her pioneering wedding show concept of marrying artistry and celebration through experiential experiences, such as ballet and live performances, has been emulated around the world. “We’re thrilled to mark Crème de la Crème’s 17th anniversary at one of Vancouver’s newest and most luxurious properties, the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver,” says Lavin. “Our goal, from day one, has always been to introduce an event the wedding industry has yet to experience, in the most opulent and memorable way. Our new home and venue is the perfect place to unveil the next Crème de la Crème.”
The highlight of the event was the designer fashion show featuring top international design houses like Vera Wang Bride, Monique Lhuillier Bride, Berta, Shyamal & Bhumika, Anushree Reddy Design, presented by Bisou Bridal, House of Raina, and Harry Rosen Inc.
Exhibitors represented a diverse collection of businesses available to brides for their big day. Everyone from Beige Weddings to Boss Limousines, Caviar Candles to DJ Pri, the newly launched Esperlus venue, GlamMed Aesthetics to Modello Bespoke, Zynth Events to Surmesur, and even the Visit Barbardos team was on hand to plan your destination wedding!
In addition to the culinary talents by JW Marriott Parq Vancouver’s executive chef Kunal Dighe, including a fresh artisanal Italian station and diverse cultural tasting stations, attendees tried delectable bites and sips from Metro Vancouver’s top caterers, including Boy With a Knife, Railtown Catering, Sage Catering, Savoury Chef, and White Table Catering. Then, they indulged in some sweets handcrafted by skilled pastry chefs from Bella Gelateria, Joconde Patisserie, and Le Gateau Bakeshop.
Local artisans, such as heirloom jewelry designer Elsa Corsi, showcased the latest in bridal accessories and offered advice on the best jewelry to pair with specific bridal style. Top trends in floral arrangements were on display by some of Vancouver’s most talented, including Flower Factory, Botany and Bloom, and Tala Florist.
“It’s been great to witness the resilience of our amazing community in the past few years, and this event is also a wonderful celebration of their talents and what’s possible in our industry,” adds Lavin.
