Founded in 2013, the Vancouver Island Wedding Industry Association (VIWIA) emerged from a shared passion among local wedding professionals to elevate the bridal experience across the island. Recognizing the need for collaboration, the founders aimed to create a supportive community where vendors could connect, share knowledge, and promote best practices.
VIWA serves as a vital resource for brides and grooms by curating a network of trusted vendors—from photographers to florists—who adhere to high standards of quality and service. Their website features a comprehensive directory, making it easy for couples to find the right professionals for their special day.
Recently, VIWIA held a memorable event at Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse, renowned for its award-winning ciders, accessible venue, and forest ceremony area. Members and guests enjoyed mingling delicious grazing tables (Mensch Catering), beautiful florals (Paloma Floral Studio) and complimentary cider and explored the beautiful grounds, showcasing the venue’s potential for weddings and other special events. Sea Cider’s accolades further enhance its appeal, making it a standout choice for couples seeking a picturesque backdrop.
Beyond vendor connections, VIWIA hosts workshops, networking events, and bridal shows, providing couples with inspiration and valuable insights into planning their weddings. By championing collaboration and excellence, the VIWA continues to be a cornerstone of Vancouver Island’s wedding landscape, ensuring unforgettable experiences for couples.
We would like to shout out new friends – the award-winning Chef Castro of House of Boateng, Laura of Inn at Laurel Point, Tanner Biggan, Mariel Belmont, the owner of Sea Cider – Laura Kalsca of West Coast Weddings for the invitation, and the Maria Curcic (Hat Goddess) for ensuring our safe transportation!
