Engines roared, cameras flashed, and car enthusiasts flooded the Vancouver Convention Centre as the 2025 Vancouver International Auto Show (VIAS) delivered an electrifying five-day spectacle. The city’s love affair with automobiles reached new heights as a record-breaking 138,773 visitors immersed themselves in a world of cutting-edge innovation, luxury, and adrenaline-pumping performance.
A Celebration of Speed and Style
From the moment the doors swung open, the excitement was palpable. Families, gearheads, and casual admirers alike navigated a sea of gleaming vehicles, each one more dazzling than the last. Over 30 world-class brands took centre stage, unveiling everything from eco-conscious electric marvels to high-performance dream machines that left jaws on the floor.
One of the undeniable showstoppers? The Iconic Concierge Magazine presented SSC Tuatara Striker—the world’s fastest production car—boasting a blistering top speed of 455.3 km/h. Attendees stood in awe as they got up close to this engineering masterpiece, imagining the sheer thrill of gripping the wheel of such a powerhouse.
For those who wanted more than just a visual treat, the EV and PHEV Test Drive Experience, presented by CleanBC Go Electric and RBC, provided the ultimate hands-on thrill. A record 4,424 attendees took the driver’s seat, hitting the streets of Vancouver in some of the most sought-after electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles on the market. With 49 models from 16 top manufacturers, the future of driving felt closer than ever—and undeniably exhilarating.
Star Cars and Showstoppers
Beyond the latest innovations, VIAS was a haven for automotive nostalgia and rarity including a selection of original ‘Back to the Future’ cars! A particular highlight was the breathtaking Ferrari collection from Vancouver’s own Jordan Melville of Team Skookum. His ultra-rare SP3 Daytona turned heads and sparked conversations, proving that timeless elegance and modern engineering make the perfect pair.
Meanwhile, major automotive brands seized the spotlight to introduce the crowd to the future of the industry. The highly anticipated 2025 Mustang GTD, Corvette ZR1, Lincoln Navigator, and Hyundai IONIQ 9 all made their British Columbia debuts, wowing fans with sleek designs and game-changing advancements.
The Industry’s Grand Stage
As exhibitors engaged with eager visitors, the energy in the venue was undeniable. Weissach INEOS Grenadier’s COO, Kai Hensler, could not contain his enthusiasm, sharing, “Building on last year’s excitement, we were thrilled to showcase the highly anticipated Quartermaster edition—demonstrating our commitment to delivering uncompromising capability and refined adventure.”
Beyond the gleaming vehicles and high-profile launches, the 2025 Vancouver International Auto Show underscored a crucial shift in the industry—one towards sustainability, electrification, and innovation. Blair Qualey, President and CEO of the New Car Dealers Association of BC, reflected on this momentum, stating, “This year’s event truly reflected the future of transportation, and we could not be more excited to have shared that vision with the community.”
Gearing Up for 2026
As the final day wrapped up and the last visitors took their parting photos with their dream cars, one thing became clear: VIAS is not just an auto show; it is an experience. A record-setting one at that.
With plans already underway for its 2026 return from March 25 to 29, the Vancouver International Auto Show is set to keep pushing boundaries, revving up the excitement, and bringing the best of the automotive world to the heart of the city. Buckle up—next year’s show promises to be even bigger, bolder, and faster!
