National Pinot Grigio Day arrives on May 17th, and there is no better reason to reach for a bottle that earns its place on the table — and beyond it.

Rewild’s Pinot Grigio, crafted in Australia’s Southern Murray Darling, opens with fresh pear and green apple aromas that feel made for warm afternoons. The palate is medium bodied, well structured, and cleanly expressive — exactly what a patio pour should be. It is 100% vegan, made without animal products of any kind, and produced with the kind of minimal intervention that lets the fruit speak clearly.

What sets Rewild apart is what happens before the bottle is ever opened. As the largest certified member of Sustainable Winegrowing Australia, Rewild leads research into carbon measurement and best practices in regenerative viticulture. Soil health is actively cultivated through added microbes and the return of over 8,000 tonnes of composted grape skins, seeds, and stalks each season. Solar panels have helped the winery avoid over 750 tonnes of CO2 emissions, and the team recycles up to 150 million litres of water annually. The packaging follows suit — FSC-certified recycled cardboard, sugar cane labels, and lighter bottles.

At the table, the Pinot Grigio moves easily from brunch to dinner. Fresh salads, mild cashew cheeses, bruschetta, crostini with ricotta and agave — it meets each one with equal ease. For those who prefer red, the Cabernet Sauvignon is equally considered: medium bodied and dry, with concentrated blackcurrant and blueberry, dark fruit, fine tannin, and excellent flavour persistence. Also vegan. Also thoughtfully made.
This National Pinot Grigio Day, the invitation is simple: choose a wine that gives back as much as it offers. Rewild makes that choice effortless — available at BC Liquor stores and private purveyors of fine wine and spirits.
