Vancouver Entertains, presented by RBC Foundation, is officially sold out at the dinner level, with all eight bespoke dinners across the city fully booked. But the evening itself, set for Friday, October 16, is far from closed to new guests. A limited number of tickets remain for the official After Party at TELUS Garden, and the online charity auction is open now, giving anyone who wants to support the cause a direct way in.
The After Party
Doors open at TELUS Garden at 9:30 p.m., where performances by Canada’s Drag Race alum Hazel and electronic duo DESTINEAK take the stage, courtesy of Entertainment Sponsor National Bank Capital Markets. Oakridge Park, a key partner of the After Party, brings a photo studio to the space for the night. Guests will also get a first look at CANFAR’s HIV Unwrapped Canada, a preview featuring garments by Project Runway Canada Season 3 winner Leeland Mitchell and runners-up Curtis Matysek and Charles Lu, each piece designed in collaboration with CANFAR-funded researchers to explore their science through shape, form, fabric and function. The Online Charity Auction
For those not attending in person, the Vancouver Entertains online charity auction is this week’s big push, and it is already gaining momentum, with more than $15,000 raised so far. Open to Canadian residents, the auction features more than 30 lots, including luxury getaways, fine jewellery, high fashion, art, travel opportunities and one-of-a-kind experiences. Every bid placed helps sustain community-led HIV programs and implementation research across British Columbia.
Every Dollar Stays in BC
Whether through an After Party ticket or an auction bid, funds raised through Vancouver Entertains stay in the province, supporting organizations including Kilala Lelum, Dr. Peter Centre, the Community-Based Research Centre, Ribbon Community, Qmunity and HiM. As community organizations are asked to do more with fewer resources, this week’s momentum behind the auction and the After Party is a direct line of support to the people and programs who need it most.
