PET LOVERS POLICY

The Magnolia Hotel is pet-friendly and accepts up to two dogs per room with no size restriction. Each four-legged guest will receive creature comforts such as a dog bed, water bowl, and food dish. After each pet stay, rooms are deep cleaned to remove pet hair and dander. If you have sensitivities, when making reservations, be sure to request a suite that has been pet-free for a minimum of 30 days.

A GREEN HEART BEATS WITHIN

In 2024, the 64-suite hotel aims to become Biosphere Certified and improve its environmental policy and sustainability initiatives. Currently, the hotel is a certified member of the Green Key Eco-Rating Program, investing in sustainable practices to protect the environment. Guests are offered an option to decline housekeeping and turndown services, and enjoy complimentary in-house filtered water, bottled in refillable glass bottles in the rooms—the latter results in over 50,000 plastic bottles saved per year. Nespresso pods from guest rooms and offices are appropriately recycled, and recycling is available throughout the establishment.

FITNESS & FUN

For those rainy West Coast days, guests can get their steps in on the second floor. A key card grants access to a modern fitness centre fully equipped with an elliptical, treadmill, free weights, yoga mat, stationary bike, universal machine, and kettlebells. Those who excel in the elements, explore the outdoors on foot or on one of the complimentary cruiser and electric bicycles to take on any of the Curated Trail Maps (Magnolia’s Tapa Trail, Beautiful Boutiques, Downtown Flavour, Running Trails, and Bikes, Blooms & Brews), all generously provided by the Concierge.

SIGNATURE DIAMOND ROOM

Signature Diamond Rooms offer the finest vistas with postcard views of the BC Legislative Assembly and the bustling Harbour Causeway area from the hotel’s top two floors. This collection of bright and spacious rooms includes a king bed, large screen television, selection of healthy snacks and mini-fridge, cozy gas fireplace and a beautifully updated bathroom with deep soaker tubs and separate glass showers. Vegan bedding, turndown, and ice service are available upon request.

LOOKING BACK IN TIME

The Magnolia Hotel & Spa was built in 1997 and opened in October 1998. It was designed to fit into Victoria’s old town district, and the building was the proud winner of the Victoria Real Estate Board’s 1999 Commercial Building Award for Excellence. The businesses that have occupied our space have varied over the years and ranged from book publishers, car rentals, a paving company, and even a banjo shop! The longest business on-site  was the Pro Patrica Branch of the  Royal Canadian Legion from 1926 to 1990.

An extension of The Magnolia Hotel & Spa’s award-winning boutique hotel experience, The Courtney Room is a welcoming space where locals and visitors alike can enjoy genuine hospitality and a menu that honours the coastal offerings of the Island. The Courtney Room fosters partnerships with local farmers and suppliers to ensure its environmental footprint stays as local as possible. Beverages are served sans straws, but guests can request metal straws to reduce the use of plastic and non-biodegradable waste.
