From the delicate harmony of plant motifs to boldly political statements rendered in beads and embroidery, these reimaginings extend far beyond fashion. Vaughn Spann
New Jersey-based Spann blends abstraction and figuration to explore themes of identity and Black history. For Dior, he reinterprets the bag through geometric motifs and his signature “X” iconography, rendered in transparent pinks and striking textural contrasts.
Liang Yuanwei
The Beijing artist draws on traditional Chinese ceramics and floral patterns. Her Lady Dior features 3D-printed resin florals inspired by Song dynasty vases and finished with antique gold and jade-hued accents.
Duy Anh Nhan Duc
Vietnamese-born and Paris-based, this botanical artist channels nature’s fragility in his vegan leather bag adorned with floral embossing, golden vines, and his signature dandelion encapsulated in resin.
Anna Weyant
Canadian-born Weyant merges Old Master painting techniques with surrealist femininity. Her designs range from gilded blooms to wood-grain textures, echoing the nostalgic, shadowy quality of her painted figures.
Jeffrey Gibson
Of Choctaw-Cherokee descent, Gibson is known for merging Indigenous craft with pop culture. His Lady Dior pays homage to love and resistance through beaded slogans and 3D-printed heart padlocks, evoking the locks of Parisian bridges.
Danielle McKinney
Alabama-born McKinney paints introspective female figures in richly coloured domestic scenes. Her Lady Dior features hand-embroidered silhouettes and delicate butterflies, capturing the dreamlike stillness of her work.
Hayal Pozanti
This Turkish-American artist creates fantastical, coded landscapes. Her bags incorporate trekking elements, from sheepskin to climbing gear, while one version dazzles with rhinestones and mirrored interiors that reflect both viewer and world.
Sara Flores
From the Peruvian Amazon, Flores integrates Shipibo-Conibo textile traditions into hypnotic patterns. Her two bags, adorned with bead constellations and silver accents, channel Kené’s spiritual pathways and plant-based dyes.
Woo Kukwon
Based in South Korea, Woo fuses pop surrealism with familial storytelling. His whimsical bags feature his wife, daughter, and dog, adorned with colourful threads, cherry blossoms, and symbolic embellishments.
Faith Ringgold
A pioneer of American feminist and civil rights art, Ringgold brought her quilted narratives to six final creations before her passing in 2024. Her Lady Dior bags highlight freedom, community, and Black identity through patchwork, beading, and painted portraits.
Huang Yuxing
Beijing-based Huang is celebrated for his luminous, dreamlike works infused with meditative detail. His Lady Dior designs encapsulate themes of time, memory, and rebirth in a radiant, painterly expression of transformation.
