The mother-and-daughter team enlisted the help of architect Shoghig Tutunjian of Studio One Architecture Inc. and Inside Design Studio Principal Judy Henderson to help bring their vision to life.

AZUR’s site was carefully selected because of its prime location in the heart of Vancouver’s financial and fashion districts, its proximity to points of entry such as cruise ship terminals, Helijet, and seaplane terminals, entertainment, and sports venues, as well as notable attractions like historic Chinatown, the waterfront, Stanley Park, and the city’s finest restaurants.

FIRST IN WESTERN CANADA

The AZUR Legacy Collection Hotel is the first and only property in Western Canada to join a distinguished Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) portfolio that includes over 400 boutique luxury properties in more than 80 countries worldwide.

From its elegant and expansive lobby through to the height of luxury on the 13th-floor Penthouses, bespoke elements and a simple yet dignified design influenced by the glamour of the 1940s Art Deco style abound throughout AZUR, allowing touches of modern architecture and classical details to refine it.

Opulent finishes, such as satin brass fixtures, inlaid marble floors, and the art pieces by locally renowned artists that command attention in the lobby, are very articulately curated. The classic luxury of European marble can be seen throughout the property—from the inlaid marble floors of the vestibule arranged in a chevron pattern with brass details to the marble elevator to the intimate and warm lobby accentuated by a grand gas fireplace with fluted metal and marble sides and a crystal chandelier suspended above a great high cove ceiling.

Each of the 104 rooms, suites, and penthouses seamlessly blends classical style with integrated wireless technology to help create the most comfortable and convenient stay for guests. Walk-through closets feature high-lacquer finished built-in cabinetry with LED lighting and lead to expansive marble bathrooms with double sinks, a rain shower and soaker tub, oversized back-lit mirrors, and heated floors.

High atop AZUR, the Penthouse Suites provide the ultimate luxury getaway or glamorous staycation in the city’s heart. The Penthouses offer a grand entry through lacquered double doors onto natural hardwood floors. The culinary cornerstone of the AZUR Legacy Collection Hotel can be found in Dahlia, an intimate and elegant lobby restaurant and bar. Beyond the culinary, Dahlia’s bar program writes a new chapter in the city’s storied craft cocktail scene. It will tempt cocktail enthusiasts with a thoughtfully curated collection of rare whiskeys, tequilas, scotches, cognacs, and excellent and outstanding wines from the glass and bottle. An elevated yet approachable list of wines will also spotlight varietals and vintages that showcase the unique terroir of Old and New World and the pride of place expressed in each bottle.

Culinary flair and finesse at AZUR are extended to the rooftop restaurant, the Middle Eastern-inspired Lavantine. It will offer a unique culinary experience within a warm, lush garden-like setting with green spaces on the 14th floor.
