In the heart of Vancouver’s vibrant arts scene, Georgy Manterola stands as a beacon of musical excellence. A dynamic pianist, composer, and arranger with over two decades of experience, Georgy has captivated audiences with her performances at luxury events, prestigious venues like BC Place with Coldplay, and bespoke musical experiences that redefine elegance. Her musical journey, intertwined with the exquisite craftsmanship of the Fazioli Butterfly Piano, is a testament to the harmony between art and innovation.
A Multifaceted Talent
Georgy’s versatility knows no bounds. With a repertoire of over 1,200 songs, her performances span classical, pop, rock, jazz, and soundtracks. Whether delivering Bridgerton-style arrangements or crafting custom compositions for weddings, corporate galas, and private events, her artistry transforms every occasion into a memorable experience.
Her educational foundation, rooted in the Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de Monterrey and enriched by private lessons with Natalia Tibets, has been complemented by master classes with luminaries like Jesús Molina and Michel Dalberto. This robust training paved the way for collaborations with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, world-renowned composers like Joe Hisaishi, and stars such as Jordan Rudess and Jonah Nilsson through her work with Pianote at Musora Media.
The Origins of the Fazioli Butterfly Piano
The Fazioli Butterfly Piano is a masterpiece born from a union of art and engineering. Designed by the renowned Italian piano maker Paolo Fazioli, this piano was crafted to be a visual and auditory marvel. Its distinctive butterfly shape features two elegantly curved wings that open, resembling a butterfly in flight, enhancing the sound projection and creating a stunning visual impact. The piano is constructed with the finest materials, including rare woods and advanced acoustic components, ensuring an unparalleled tonal quality. The Butterfly Piano is not only an instrument but also a symbol of artistic innovation, often showcased in architecturally significant spaces that highlight its beauty.
Manuel Bernaschek, owner of Showcase Pianos, reflects on the piano’s allure: “The Butterfly Fazioli represents the pinnacle of piano craftsmanship. Its unique design is both a visual masterpiece and a technical innovation, creating an immersive experience for both the performer and the audience.”
The Fazioli Connection
It was Georgy’s first encounter with the Fazioli Butterfly Piano that ignited a profound connection. “When I moved to Vancouver, a couple of friends took me downtown, specifically to the Pacific Rim area, to show me this stunning piano they had told me about. We spotted it through the window, and I couldn’t resist trying to play it. A couple of weeks later, I eventually did—and it was an unforgettable experience! It’s my favourite of all the Fazioli pianos,” she shared.
Georgy’s appreciation for Fazioli pianos goes beyond their aesthetic allure. “Fazioli pianos are often found in breathtaking, architecturally stunning spaces, and the environment adds to their charm. The sound is exquisite, the keys feel incredible, and the overall design is absolutely captivating—it’s an experience like no other. I had the unique opportunity to be the first to play the First Light Fazioli, which features all black keys. It was such a cool experience! Since I tend to focus on everything but the keys while I play, blending in wasn’t a challenge.”
The Butterfly Fazioli, with its unique design and impeccable sound, holds a special place in Georgy’s heart. “When I played the Butterfly Fazioli, I felt butterflies in my stomach! No, honestly, the times I’ve played it are always such incredible experiences—they make me lose myself in the music, in the best way possible.”
A Perfect Collaboration
Bernaschek, spoke highly of Georgy’s collaboration with the Fazioli Butterfly Piano. “We chose Georgy for the Fazioli Butterfly Piano collaboration because she is an exceptionally talented and brilliant musician. Her professionalism shines through in every interaction, and her flexibility with repertoire makes her an absolute joy. Together, they redefine the harmony between architecture, art, and music.”
A Journey of Excellence
Beyond her performances, Georgy has achieved remarkable accolades, including the prestigious ‘Borrego de Oro’ award for Cultural Leadership in 2017 and 23 awards at the ITESM Song Composition Competitions. As co-founder of Maya Entertainment, alongside her partner Ruben Dela, Georgy continues to elevate Vancouver’s music scene by offering high-quality live music for bespoke events.
Her journey with the Fazioli Butterfly Piano exemplifies her commitment to excellence and innovation. In her hands, this extraordinary instrument transcends its physical form, becoming a vessel for emotions, stories, and memories. Georgy Manterola and the Fazioli Butterfly Piano are, indeed, a harmonious masterpiece.
