This edition of Folio.YVR Luxury Lifestyle Magazine is a true celebration of artistry, elegance, and the finer things in life. As I reflect on the stories gathered, I am inspired by the remarkable individuals, extraordinary creations, and unique experiences that define a life well lived. Each feature offers a glimpse into our unique West Coast lifestyle, where ‘slow everything’ is appreciated.
I share the journey of Tanya Kim, a Canadian media icon who has reinvented herself as a wellness advocate, mindset coach, and passionate champion of authenticity. Her transformation is a beautiful reminder of the power of resilience and self-discovery. Equally inspiring is pianist Georgy Manterola, who brings the stunning Fazioli Butterfly piano to life with a performance that is as captivating as the instrument itself. And for those who appreciate timeless craftsmanship, the Kihl ’Yahda Christian White: Master Haida Artist exhibition at the Bill Reid Gallery offers a profound exploration of Haida culture and artistry.
From the celestial beauty of Tiffany & Co.’s Blue Book 2024: Tiffany Céleste collection, the thrill of driving the McLaren 750S, sporting Hublot’s Big Bang Unico Carbon Canada, and if you are dreaming of a breathtaking West Coast escape, the $33,000,000 Princess Louisa Lodge, near BC’s Chatterbox Falls, offered through Faith Wilson (Christie’s International Real Estate), might just capture your imagination.
This issue also highlights remarkable talents like Bobo Zhao, whose award-winning Beige Weddings photography captures the essence of love in both local and international settings. Fine artist Ann Goldberg is another standout, and I am thrilled to feature her vibrant ‘Red Peonies in Chelsea’ on our cover. Her work is bold, lush, and a perfect representation of the creativity we celebrate in these pages.
A mere 24 hours in Las Vegas unfolded into an exploration of some of the world’s most sophisticated cigar lounges. From the chic elegance of eight Lounge at Resorts World LV to the iconic allure of Davidoff of Geneva and the timeless sophistication of Montecristo Cigar Bar at Caesars Palace, each destination exudes a seamless blend of relaxation and refinement, offering an experience as indulgent as it is memorable.
On the topic of indulgence, Stefano Ricci’s ultra-luxury wine and whisky collections, fittingly named Nectar of the Gods and Uisge Beatha, are truly remarkable, as are Mission Hill Family Estate’s perfect 100-point Oculus 2020 and Haywire Winery’s Lunar Red Wine, crafted to honour the Year of the Snake while supporting the Vancouver Chinatown Foundation.
I hope you enjoy this issue as much as I have enjoyed putting it together. These stories reflect the beauty, passion, and craftsmanship that elevate everyday life into something extraordinary.
Enjoy the journey.
